PicasaWeb adds automatic translation of comments

While uploading photos to PicasaWeb this morning, I was surprised when non-English comments were automatically translated to English. The results are rather entertaining, yet still demonstrating the usefulness of machine translation to non-speakers of the source language: (admit it O blog reader! Yes, you, 'cause I know there's no one else who reads this blog!)

*looks around*

(you talking to me?)

Uhm, yes it is rather...useful.

Please include the real translations too!

Yes, you in the brown cape.

The real translations are roughly:

1. The child is resembling her father more and more! Mommy don't be angry please...

2. Heheh not angry at all, I've gotten used to it long ago... even when she's still in my tummy the ultrasound scans already show her to be her father's replica.

3. Really cute

4. Cute to the max... not only does it max out the lights (e.g. those found on judges' tables) she's gonna max out and explode our brains too. (<- actually a reference to HN capable of driving us nuts)

I'm not sure how HN will feel about being referred to as "the remake" of her dad.

Sorry, I meant brown robe instead of cape. Now you really know who you are. :)

"Chip off the old block" isn't quite the same as "the remake" eh.
